At Posh, we're convinced a great pair of denim jeans can help a woman feel more confident, happy and self-assured. That's why seven years ago, we decided to take that idea and launch a ‘Denim Does Good’ promotion at Posh Boutique in Sioux Falls.

“Every woman deserves to feel good, but most women put themselves behind their families and kids, especially in low income situations. They are the last on the list to get new clothes or do anything special for themselves,” explains Becky, our co-owner. “We wanted to do something just for them.”

Our ‘Denim Does Good’ event runs October 4th-8th in Sioux Falls (October 4th-7th in Rochester). Customers can bring in gently used denim in all sizes, andeach donation equals $30 off a new pair of premium denim, including brand names like AG, Paige, 7 for all Mankind, Hudson, Citizens of Humanity and Joe’s. The gently used denim is then donated to the Teddy Bear Den in Sioux Falls, an organization dedicated to help economically disadvantaged pregnant women receive adequate health care and make healthy choices for themselves and their babies. (Donations in Rochester go to the Women's Shelter, Inc).

“The Teddy Bear Den is near and dear to our hearts and it’s fun to be able to donate to such a great organization,” says Becky. “Last year, we donated about 100 pairs of gently used denim and we’re excited to see what we can do this year. Like I said, who doesn’t love a great pair of jeans?”

Over 1,500 women are currently enrolled in the Sioux Falls Teddy Bear Den. Since 1996, the program has inspired over 19,000 women to make healthier choices, which in turn means healthier babies and a healthier community. The organization supports moms as well as their babies up to 15 months old.

“It is so wonderful to share all of the jeans brought in during Posh’s denim event with our moms!” says Sandy Lown, Executive Director of the Teddy Bear Den. “Many of the women enrolled in our program can’t afford to spend money on themselves to purchase any of the things most of us take for granted. As they come into the Den, we share with them all of the jeans donated during the first week of October. Seeing the smiles on their faces – there is nothing better!”
