Posh Boutique

It's Good to Give.

Bobbi Gaukel

At Posh, we're convinced a great pair of denim jeans can help a woman feel more confident, happy and self-assured. That's why seven years ago, we decided to take that idea and launch a ‘Denim Does Good’ promotion at Posh Boutique in Sioux Falls.

“Every woman deserves to feel good, but most women put themselves behind their families and kids, especially in low income situations. They are the last on the list to get new clothes or do anything special for themselves,” explains Becky, our co-owner. “We wanted to do something just for them.”

Our ‘Denim Does Good’ event runs October 4th-8th in Sioux Falls (October 4th-7th in Rochester). Customers can bring in gently used denim in all sizes, andeach donation equals $30 off a new pair of premium denim, including brand names like AG, Paige, 7 for all Mankind, Hudson, Citizens of Humanity and Joe’s. The gently used denim is then donated to the Teddy Bear Den in Sioux Falls, an organization dedicated to help economically disadvantaged pregnant women receive adequate health care and make healthy choices for themselves and their babies. (Donations in Rochester go to the Women's Shelter, Inc).

“The Teddy Bear Den is near and dear to our hearts and it’s fun to be able to donate to such a great organization,” says Becky. “Last year, we donated about 100 pairs of gently used denim and we’re excited to see what we can do this year. Like I said, who doesn’t love a great pair of jeans?”

Over 1,500 women are currently enrolled in the Sioux Falls Teddy Bear Den. Since 1996, the program has inspired over 19,000 women to make healthier choices, which in turn means healthier babies and a healthier community. The organization supports moms as well as their babies up to 15 months old.

“It is so wonderful to share all of the jeans brought in during Posh’s denim event with our moms!” says Sandy Lown, Executive Director of the Teddy Bear Den. “Many of the women enrolled in our program can’t afford to spend money on themselves to purchase any of the things most of us take for granted. As they come into the Den, we share with them all of the jeans donated during the first week of October. Seeing the smiles on their faces – there is nothing better!”

How to be a Garden Girl with Style

Suzanne Smith
The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.
— Alfred Austin

Summer’s here, and our thoughts have turned to nature, nature, nature! We asked our friend Brianna Prudoehl from Fox & Fern Floral to share some handy tips about gardening (especially if you are a first-timer like us):

1- Make your garden work for you. Plant the vegetables, herbs, and floral you'll know you’ll harvest and use.

2- There is a reason (and a solution) for every problem. Use these opportunities to learn about your plants.  Do they need a change in light exposure?  Are they getting the nutrition they need? We swear you’ll come to know and care for your ‘plant babies’ more and more as time goes on!

3- Go with the flow. Nature has a mind of her own. And just so you know? Your garden will never be perfect.  Enjoy the beauty of nature in all its imperfect glory.

4- Learn about light. What’s the light environment of your garden?  Does it get mostly north, south, east or west sun exposure?  Your light leads your garden, so take care to look for it before you plant.

5- Build a foundation.  Make sure your plants have a healthy and happy root system.  Good roots equal happy plants equals healthy harvests. We all need a good foundation to thrive.

5- Build a foundation.  Make sure your plants have a healthy and happy root system.  Good roots equal happy plants equals healthy harvests. We all need a good foundation to thrive.

Thanks for the tips, Brianna! Be sure to stop by Fox & Fern Floral for more lovely reminders of the beauty surrounding us every day.

Top 5 Trends for Spring

Suzanne Smith

Ferocious Fuchsia – Fuchsia is one of our favorite picks - but actually all shades of pink are making a strong appearance in spring wear. We love mixing in a pop of bright fuchsia with a neutral for a fun and eye catching look! Our rule of thumb is ‘less is more’ with brights. Think of the ‘pop’ of color as your statement piece. Also, if you’re drawn to softer, paler hues of pink, a monochromatic look is right on trend for this spring.

The Cold Shoulder – We’re willing to bet you’ve seen this trend walking around town (or on the spreads of fashion magazines). One of the biggest trends of the season - the cold shoulder look - is a great way to update a basic tee or put an interesting twist on your typical button up. This trend isn’t limiting itself to anything! We’re finding it on dresses, blouses, basics, jackets, sweaters, etc. and we have to admit: we love it!

Statement Sleeves – There are many things that can make a statement on your sleeves- bows, embroidery, ruffles, etc. The delicate ties on this top are what drew us in. It’s got a romantic feel to it and lets you show a little more skin than the average long-sleeve top. We love this trend because you can make it totally personalized to your style. If you’re feeling bold and colorful you may opt for oversized ruffles like in this gorgeous mint dress! If you’re headed into work (and loud and proud isn’t exactly office appropriate) it could as subtle as a dainty bow or colorful button.

Raw Hew Denim – The raw hem, undone hem, frayed hem… it goes by many names but it alludes to a singular vibe. Unique. It’s hard to make a basic staple like denim different but this trend offers you just that. While we will never retire our trusty pair of classic, clean cut denim we are sure enjoying this moment of freshness in denim trends.

The Jacket of All Trades – If you’re going to invest in one key piece this spring, may we suggest a jacket? While all sorts of jackets are in style right now, from bombers to trench coats to denim, we fell hard for this mixed leather piece from Blank NYC because of is extreme versatility. This jacket can easily be thrown on while you’re running out the door, and its guaranteed to look good with just about anything! We love the contrast of its edgy feel when paired with a feminine floral dress, and it elevates your favorite pair of denim and white tee to the next level of cool.

P is for Plaid.

Plaid makes even your most basic of wardrobe basics ... not!

Wondering how to best wear it? Well, plaid patterns can go underneath or over-top. You can wear a lot of it, or just a touch. And plaid comes in so many lovely variations! Just pick your favorite(s) and go...it really is one of the most versatile patterns ever.

Lively apple orchards, vibrant leaves, brisk mornings and cozy sweaters are some of our favorite thoughts when thinking about fall. You don't have to sacrifice style when life gets busy, we'll help you figure out how to make it work and make it easy so you can keep doing the things that make life fun. We're here to help you find that perfect fitting pair of jeans you can live in the next couple months. We've got easy sweaters you can just throw on and head out in. Five Favorites

BlogBecky Wiswall

This summer was full of fun trends! We pulled five of our favorite looks that are perfect for now and can transition easily into fall, which is right around the corner!

Off the Shoulder

This trend had been going strong for a while now, and we predict it will transition into fall as well! Everyone should be showing off a little shoulder now and then - it is a nice, subtle sexy look.

Cut-Out Details

This is one of the biggest upcoming trends, cut-out details are everywhere! This top is great because its a soft, casual, basic but the cut-out shoulders take it up a level.

This is one trend we hope stays around for a while. Embroidery gives an item a special, vintage feel, which is very timeless. We love it on trims and collars! The white on white embroidery on this top has a classic feel that can be super versatile.

Sporty Chic

It's better than athletic wear! Perfect to run errands in or to take the kids to the park and cute enough to grab drinks with the girls after!

Playful Prints

Printed pieces are a staple this summer and fall...we can't get enough of them! We love the color combo and fit of this tank and, it looks great with denim.

Why we love it: Off the shoulders is one of this seasons biggest trends, and for good reason. The look is fun and flirty without being too revealing. We love the fun print on this cold-shoulder top! For a special night out we recommend this dress by French Connection, it is sure to impress! Another neat idea is to bring along a new fragrance so you both can be reminded of your fun vacation every time you wear it after the trip!

Vacation with the Kids

Why we love it: A fun colored top and 7 For All Mankind's Josefina Skinny Boyfriend is a perfect outfit for family vacation because its flexible. It works in more casual settings but you also won't look out of place in a dressier environment. Plus its comfortable enough to wear all day long.

Road-Trip with the Bestie

Why we love it: Its all about spontaneity! Who wouldn't want to hit the road wearing this Blondie shirt?! With a relaxed boyfriend jean by AG, the Sanctuary shirt dress and an easy breezy scarf you are ready for anything! The fold-able leopard flats work with both looks and bonus! they fit in your purse. Denim Trends for Fall

BlogBecky Wiswall

Hello, October. Hello pumpkin spice latte, crunching through leaves, Friday night football, and yes - hello, denim!

It’s time to dig into the details on what’s happening in denim for the season - including some old and some new trends!

Whew. A sigh of relief for you ‘skinny lovers’ is that the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Whatever TYPE of skinny you feel best in - from super skinny with a little bit of stretch, to more of a cigarette cut that is a little more ‘breathable’ - skinnies are staying put. Posh has skinnies from all of the major brands, and can help you find the perfect pair for your shape. Keep in mind that booties are still hot, so if you haven’t tried your skinny jeans with a bootie of some sort, this may be your opportune moment.

We all know what happens when you’ve had your favorite pair of denim for YEARS. The softness, the worn seams, the signs of wear that show you’ve LIVED a little in them. That’s what distressed denim does, well, instantly! Not only can you see distressed examples on nearly every 'celebrity getting coffee’ instagram - you can see them in most any setting, depending on what you pair them with. Want to give your distressed denim an instant upgrade? Pair them with flowing fabric tops, or fitted items such as a classic blazer.

Speaking of playing ‘dress up’ - dark denim is still one of the most ‘dressed up’ styles of denim there is. This fall, we’re seeing LOTS of deep blues like navy and indigo in other fashion items as well as denim. And naturally, pairing dark denim with the ’new’ fall palette of jewel tones like burgundy, emerald or violet - works so well! Want to dress up your denim even further? Throw on a gold bangle or drop earrings with a little bit of sparkle. Dark denim makes feminine, flirty jewelry shine even more.

Boyfriend jeans are a lot like…boyfriends. They come in lots of styles and shapes, depending on what fits YOU best. We’re still seeing quite a few boyfriend style denims in every wash and length you can imagine. Nothing feels better for a cozy, comfy Midwest weekend than a pair of boyfriend denims, paired with a cute bootie, cozy oversized sweater, and a baseball cap. That’s our uniform, and we’re sticking with it for now :)

Finally, you know we had to mention flares. Actually, from a modern bootcut with a SLIGHT flare, to total, all-out bell bottomed flares, they are back in a big way this fall! Flares are not only fun to wear, they really do flatter a ton of figure types. Wondering how to best wear your flares? Actually, it’s all about proportion. Flares look great paired with more tailored tops, and generally work best with a chunkier shoe. For those of you with a real flare for trends might even want to try the newer cropped flare look! For the best figure flattering shape, make sure your flares are more fitted from the waist to the knee, then gently widen toward the bottom! And watch those hemlines. They should just skim the ground! There you have it, some of the best trends in denim for this fall. And thankfully, through Saturday, October 10 - you can get all of our premium denim on sale with our once a year ‘denim does good’ promotion going on in Sioux Falls!

Fall Trends at Posh

BlogBecky Wiswall

Fall. It happened this week, in case you didn’t notice. No matter where you live, but especially here in the Midwest, we all get a little bit excited for fall things. And it’s not just because of the pumpkin spice lattes, either. Fall means a BIG change in your attitude about attire. And fall fashion TRENDS are really fun. This year, we have quite a few interesting trends either continuing or just popping up. Here are a few of the ones we're seeing a lot of, and we LOVE at Posh.

Military Style

Who ever said that military clothing was ‘drab’? Not so this fall. This classic favorite is back in a big way. Whether it’s an easy, cute jacket like this one by Sanctuary, or even pants, tops or sweaters, be sure to add an olive neutral or two to your wardrobe. We like to call that ‘basic training.’

Chunky Knits

Just like last year, texture is a big deal this fall. Who doesn’t love a chunky sweater or several? Try a cowl or turtleneck to really turn up the heat, or stick with a sweater jacket or cardigan, which are still very much sought after. No matter how you do it, chunky is funky.

Color Theory

Okay, we better talk about the obvious for a minute. Color is always a 'thing.' While we always love the neutral palette as a backdrop, the deep jewel tones (think 80s, only richer) are here for fall (as the pastels of the past few seasons take a back seat). We especially love marsala – a wine-stained choice that is actually the 'Pantone Color of the Year,' emerald green, cobalt blue, and deep purple or violet. Any of these colors pair well with your neutrals. Isn’t this a fun change of pace?

Pretty in Plaid

Let’s talk about classic plaid. It’s still strong, and everywhere going into fall. Plaids are such an easy pairing with premium denim, and our fresh pops of plaid look good for a fun weekend play date with friends, or even as a work-wear piece in a casual environment. If button-downs are not your style, we even have soft layering pieces and accessories that are plaid in nature.

Hopefully, these fun looks get your minds switching gears for cooler days. Stop in soon for more ideas and inspirations from your friends at Posh! And happy fall-ing!

A new store and a new season for Posh Boutique.

BlogBecky Wiswall

This has been quite a summer for those of us that call Posh ‘home.’ Not only have we been as busy as ever in our Sioux Falls shop, we’ve also been busy bees working away at our new boutique that opens in August in Rochester, MN. We thought it would be fun to share some thoughts from Jenny and Becky on the new store, and how it all came about.

What made you decide to open a second shop in Rochester?

First of all, Sioux Falls has been SUCH a blessing, and we’ve enjoyed our jobs so much. We have met customers who not only supported us and our passion, but became our friends. We’ve matured our brand in the last 7 years, and it was time for a new challenge. We are very excited about Rochester, because we feel it has many qualities that are similar to Sioux Falls. It has a vibrant downtown and draws people from many surrounding communities. We love that Rochester has all the amenities of a city, but still has a small town feel.

What’s your favorite part of opening a new store?

In the beginning, it’s all about the excitement of getting the doors open. We’d compare it to Christmas, as we work toward getting set up and decorated for the opening. We get to open TONS of boxes of brand new clothes and get them ready to display. Who wouldn’t like that part? Then, once the doors are open - it’s all about the thrill of meeting people in the community and building relationships. We love that part the most - seeing customers leave our store happy because they were able to find something they love, something that makes them feel good.

What unique things are you hoping to offer women in Rochester?

We plan to bring a style that makes customers feel their best. Our clothing lines are unique and many times, exclusive to our store. We carry multiple premium denim lines - so we can find just the right fit for each customer. At the end of the day, we want each person who comes in our door to know they are going to get a fun experience and great service, along with the latest fashions.

What are you most looking forward to as you join the Rochester community? (from Suzanne: New store manager in Rochester)

Moving to Rochester involves a lot of changes in my life: a new job, a new city, even a new house! All of which I’m extremely eager for. I feel like I’m at the beginning of something great. I am looking forward to discovering the Rochester community and what it has to offer...but one of the most exciting things for me is sharing Posh Boutique with Rochester! After working at Posh in Sioux Falls for 5 years, I know the same treasured relationships, incredible style, and unique perspective on lifestyle will find a place here too. I can’t wait to get started.

Fall is coming soon! Do you have any hints for us about which trends are expected to be big in the coming season?

There should be a real 70s vibe continuing into fall - chunky knits, plaids, fringe, flare denims and boho silhouettes. The trend is more refined and updated, obviously, but look for it to be a fun season for fashion!

Spring Fashion Forecast

BlogBecky Wiswall

Hey friends, Happy March! We know most of you have already ‘sprung forward’ in your heads to the next fashion season, so we thought we’d fill you in on a few of the trends we are seeing this spring. If nothing else, these lovely frocks should help you to overcome the month that comes in like a LION.

First off, let’s talk color. Our favorite from LAST spring is here again, with some friends along for the ride. Corals, pinks, oranges, all of the wonderful sunset colors by the beach, are here in full force. If you’ve been riding out the last few months with the neutrals in your closet, now is a good time to pop in a touch of warmth.

Next up, get ready for a graphic explosion. We see no end to bold graphics, from triangles and chevrons to the ever popular stripe. Notice the neutral palette, and the little pop of color in accessories. The best part about these fun dresses is that they go everywhere, from casual date nights to a weekend wedding.

Sanjay Dress, $69 Chevron Stripe Dress, $63 Christie Dress, $64

Finally, let’s hear it for COMFORT. Soft, flowing fabrics abound, so be ready to stock up. Modern poly fabrics with fabulous drape have been sneaking into so many designer lines the last year or so, and  thankfully they are easy, easy, easy! Take a look at the cool tones in these wonderful examples with flow.

GAME ON: Your guide to Superbowl fashion

BlogBecky Wiswall

It’s one of the only things we look forward to this month - the BIG game. Whether you go for the halftime show, the commercials or (gasp!) the game itself, you’re probably wondering what everyone will be wearing when you gather. There are a couple of schools of thought about Superbowl fashion – one is that you deck yourself head-to-toe in team colors, and throw all other fashion rules out the door. If this is your plan, don’t let us spoil it for you. We’re not here to take away team pride, especially if the Patriots or the Seahawks are your faves.

We ARE here for those of you who fall on the football fence. You watch every once in awhile. You think Tom Brady is kind of cute. You don’t know anything about deflated balls (google it). But cute clothing? Heck, yeah!

Luckily, this year’s teams have a lot in common, fashion-wise. They share the color palette of navy, white, and silver. Which means there are a lot of ways you could go with your outfit. We’ve put together three fun mix-and-match options. They’re subtle, but you’ll still feel sporty.

Shown above, left to right:

Outfit 1: Magazine top, $36 Scarf, $30

Outfit 2: LA Made top, $94 Scarf, $27

Outfit 3: Wooden Ships sweater, $105 Lumiere top, $35 Necklace, $18

If you are rooting specifically for the patriots, think about small red accents. This leather bracelet from Goodwork(s) complements the navy/white/grey theme perfectly.

Shown above:

Esley Blazer, $64 Lumiere top, $34 Joe’s jeans, $181 Goodwork(s) bracelet, $44 Clutch, $41

Seahawks, anyone? Show your love with the seafoam scarf and mint clutch, which also work well within a neutral palette.

 Shown above:

Splendid top, $88 Paige jeans, $170 Scarf, $27 Clutch, S47 Earrings, $14

The only other rule of the day is to laugh with the gang, cheer a little bit, and thank goodness that there are only 47 days until spring arrives!

Real Life Posh: Jaymi Bader

JAYMIThis week, we were very honored to meet Jaymi Bader, the winner of our October 'Posh Goes Pink' outfit giveaway. Jaymi came to the shop with her friend Stacey, one of several friends who nominated her as a survivor of cancer. First off, we have LOTS of merchandise in the shop right now! So Jaymi was able to try on quite a few things in her search for the perfect outfit. Her Joe's jeans were the first thing she tried on, and they were the 'keepers' in the end. She topped it off with a cute sweater, Nikki Bikki cami (those are magic) and of course a pop of color with a fun red bag.

Along the way, we asked Jaymi a few questions about her cancer journey. Her diagnosis came in May 2010, when she was 28 years old. Four years later, she's endured multiple surgeries, chemo, radiation and most recently a fight with Stage 4 cancer in her spine.

It's kind of hard to imagine good things coming out of such a story, but Jaymi is thankful for the lifelong survivors she has met who've become friends along the way. She says she doesn't 'sweat the little stuff' anymore, and tries to keep a positive attitude because it's something she CAN control.

We wish we could say that this gift was in honor of a completed battle, but unfortunately cancer often comes with a diagnosis that is not so simple. Jaymi has fought cancer multiple times. We admire her spirit, and also admire her courage to face whatever may lie ahead. Life is complicated to say the least, and her attitude is one of hope, positivity and a desire to raise awareness and support for others. Jaymi, thanks for being YOU.

The New Wave of Denim

Every fall, it happens again. We get EXCITED about denim. And as much of a staple as denim is to almost every woman's wardrobe, we still LOVE to see what is trending when each new season hits. Wondering what you MUST HAVE in denim for the next months? Here are some of the bigger fall trends: POSJ_MIDHIGH

Mid/High Rise Often called the new 'mom' jean, the high rise accentuates all your curves in a totally new way. Who knew this throw-back from the 80s would look so good? If you're not totally on board, you might want to stick with a mid-rise this season. Looks like your low-rise denim will have some new friends this fall!

Shown: Paige Hidden Hills Straight High-Rise

Destruction Whether you like a little or a lot, destoyed denim is still in full swing. If you're going for that perfectly relaxed and comfy 'lived in' look, you'll love a touch of destruction. Dress them up or down by pairing with heels and a tailored jacket, or a sweatshirt and fun scarf for a casual day. So cute.

Shown: Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny

Boyfriend Fit Not just a summer style, the relaxed boyfriend fit is holding strong this fall. This 'anti-skinny' style is super chic when paired with the right thing - like a simple white tee, cozy sweater and a great pair of booties. Relax, it looks like this boyfriend is sticking around for awhile.

Shown: 7 for All Mankind Josefina

Ankle Length Sweet and feminine, the ankle length is still trending this fall. We love them rolled (or not) with booties, feminine oxfords or a really great pump. Plus, it's a lot less material to be tucked into tall boots if you are still in that camp.

Shown: 7 for All Mankind Ankle Skinny

Embellished Zippers, patchwork, paint splatters - almost anything goes! This is definitely a fashion forward trend, which is great if you find yourself more on the risk-taking side of things. As in life, balance is the key. Pair this trend with restrained/simple pieces and accessories, and you'll still be the star of the show.

Shown: Paige Edgemont

Sigh. There you have it - a quick recap of what you might want to add to your denim wardrobe for fall. As always - we can help you find the best fit and style for YOU. Posh carries only premium denim in the following brands: 7 for All Mankind, Joe's, Hudson, Paige and Citizens of Humanity. Stop by and see us soon!

Make It Work.

Sigh. Work. It's pretty much a necessary part of life. The good part about work is that you get to have a cute wardrobe dedicated to it. At Posh, we have some thoughts about work wear. Here are a few of the things running through our minds, as we head back indoors for the fall workplace. Draw Attention in a Good Way. We all know the stereotypes of how to get ahead in the work place. Don't fall for those. The reality is, it's GOOD to draw attention to yourself, but be strategic about it. Play nice. Play smart. Play like you mean business. If you think about it, most people are drawn to things that are visually appealing. When it comes to work wear, a dramatic 'pop' of color can point people to who you are and what you're about. We like this red dress by Everly. It's simple, polished, and makes a statement in a professional way.

STANDOUTDress by Everly $59 Purse by Urban Expressions $79 Earrings $14

Smart Style. Some days, it feels like yoga pants are just a good idea. The reality is, LOOKING GOOD makes you feel better on those kinds of days. And dressing for work can be as easy as putting on a pair of your favorite comfies. If you are unsure about how to use color, neutrals are always a safe bet. You can still portray confidence and an up-to-date attitude, especially with graphic patterns like this dress by Esley. Pair it with gold (this season's best bet for metals) and a couple of taupe accessories. That's called smart with a side of stylish.

blackdressDress by Everly $63 Clutch $41 Belt $14 Earrings $12

Home and Business Combined. So, you work from home, eh? Lucky you! You might be tempted at first to just dress down, because nobody is going to see you anyway. However, YOU see you. And if you want to feel like the professional that you are, dressing well for the work day is a good plan. Plus, you never know when you'll run into that perfect 'next client' at the grocery store :) Keep your closet stocked with cute and easy basics like these simple black leggings by Sanctuary and a flowing, pretty top by Eight Sixty. Then get to work.

WORKFROMHOMETop by Eight Sixty $81 Moto Leggings by Sanctuary $82 Bracelets $14 Earrings $14

Knock 'Em Dead. Finally - every once in awhile, you just need to knock it out of the park. If you have a big meeting, or just a big reason to impress, the perfect dress is the perfect choice. This fitted yet classic black and tweed dress by Esley is so versatile, and looks like a million bucks. Add the electric blue clutch for a little bit of drama, and you're for sure on the fast track to style success in the workplace.

POLISHEDDress by Esley $72 Clutch $45 Earrings $14

Wondering about 'making it work' for you with a new fall wardrobe? Stop into the shop, and we'll be glad to help you a little or a lot. Dressing you for your work day is one of the best parts of fall for us!

Who's up for some great fall shopping? Even though summer is technically still here, our hearts have turned COOL. We're ready for fall! If you're wondering what to put on your shopping list, we've got some ideas for you. Here's are some little tips on fun fall trends that are easy to slip into your wardrobe. COLOR

Even though the weather is cooling down, jewel tones and intense colors seem here to stay. On the other hand, it's also a year for cooler neutrals and muted pastels. Look for brights in the red or violet family, and smoky tones like grey, dusty blue or lavender.

One of the best parts of fall is the chance to wear sweaters again! This year, knitwear is chunky and full of fun details like interesting necklines and sleeve details. Look for unique hemlines, pockets, and lots of shapes, from over-sized to more tailored cuts. One weekend, Two ways.

Hello, summer! Even though it seems like the days are flying by, there are still quite a few summer weekends remaining. It's not too late to throw some Posh goodies in your suitcase, and hit the open road! Here are a couple of ideas to keep in mind, if you need a weekend away:

1st: Weekend at the Water.

Whether it's a quick picnic at the Falls, or a camping getaway with a few friends, summer is made for spending time at the water. We've got just the perfect look, shown below on Suzy.

Suzy's New Favorite Thing

NEWFAVE One of the best things about working in a shop like Posh is that we get to be the first to see new arrivals that come into the store almost every day. Naturally, we love this part because it's sort of like 'shopping' while we work!

We love our inventory so much that we decided it might be good to feature the things that first catch our eye. So, starting with this post, we'll be periodically featuring our NEW FAVORITE THING. For our first post, we talked with Suzy about what has been calling her name at Posh lately.

If you've known Posh for very long, you've probably met Suzy. She's been with us for almost 4 years now, and has been featured in our advertising as well as our online shop! Suzy says she loves working here for two big reasons: the staff - who have gotten to be great friends in addition to being co-workers, and of course the customers - who make up what she calls 'a fun little Posh community.'

When we asked about her 'new favorite thing,' Suzy quickly pointed to the top she happened to be wearing! This sweet, flowing little number from Ella Moss features a cute sleeve cut and detail, and a fresh modern pattern. Suzy paired it with slim black pants, and a cardigan that hopefully she will not need to wear much longer! Her graphic necklace completes the look, and adds the perfect 'pop' to complement the top.

As for Suzy's fashion philosophy, she likes to encourage customers to have no fear about trying something new. 'I always say 'just try it on!' she says. 'It's especially helpful to remind customers who think they 'can't pull off a look' that they'll never know unless they have the courage to bring it in the dressing room first!'

She also believes in 'dressing how you feel.' Like many women who really REALLY love fashion, she prefers making her outfit choice in the morning depending on what the day holds, and what her emotions tell her to wear. Suzy is a great example of how looking good leads to feeling good, and we're SO fortunate to have her on board at Posh! Stop in and say 'hi' to her soon :)
